Osuna´s and La Lantejuela countryside is located in the East corner of Seville county. This is one of the most important areas for steppeland birds in all Andalusia. The landscape is plain and rolling occupied mostly by cereal and olive groves. In addition, there are plenty of seasonal lagoons.
This area offers a very rich diversity of birds, gathering typical birds from steppe with some other waterfowl in close proximity.
Some of the most distinguished steppeland species are Great Bustard, Little Bustard, Black Shouldered Kite, Black-bellied Sandgrouse, European Roller and the Lesser Kestrel.
Among the wetland birds the Greater Flamingo is usual but the most wanted bird is the White-headed Duck.
We will drive along minor roads between the best areas for the steppeland birds and to the most interesting lagoons, like La Ballestera and Calderón Grande.Of special interest is the Gobierno´s lake, because of the artificial water irrigation which does not drain in the summer time.
